Spence Blood

Product and design lead

Design was my way into building.

It all started with Duet, a giving platform I co-founded in college that moved $500,000 in aid to refugee families through local shops. I fell in love with building, but had a lot to learn.

I went to Lyft to deepen my craft on a product used by millions, then brought it to Titan, repositioning the product into wealth management as the company crossed $1B in AUM. Most recently, I lead teams taking new products from idea to product-market fit at Kinetic.

Each role has given me more of the product to own. I love choosing what deserves to exist, finding its path into the world, and then making it contagious.

Kinetic

Founding DesignerProduct Lead

Kinetic is an incubator. We use AI to ship consumer apps in days, put them in front of buyers immediately, and build a portfolio of companies out of what works.

My job is zero to one, leading each venture from an idea to working business or killing it before it eats our time. In one day, I might brand a company, make a financial model based on a new user incentive, and push a feature I built from my own IDE. Increasingly, I’ve been running the companies outright, deciding the roadmap and where each dollar goes.

There’s a special kind of moment at Kinetic that keeps me here. It’s when the ad hook is right, the onboarding works, and my phone starts lighting up with RevenueCat notifications pinging every few seconds. Building products that get there is the most fun I’ve had in my career.

Titan

Senior Product Designer

I came to Titan because money is a source of stress in most people's lives, and I wanted to design the interfaces behind it. I also came for more ownership and pace, with room to leave my fingerprints across an entire app.

At the time, Titan was a side bet for the people who put their money in it. I joined to help it become a complete wealth management platform. We worked with Collins to define a new brand, and our three-person design team translated it into a design system and a completely new app.

I led the redesign of the advisory experience, how clients see and understand the wealth managed for them, as Titan crossed $1B in assets under management.

About

Titan is a modern wealth manager. Members get managed portfolios and an advisor on call for a fraction of the usual cost.

Role

Senior designer on a design team of three. I led the redesign of the advisory experience.

Impact

Shipped the design system and rebranded app across Titan's core surfaces as the company crossed $1B in AUM.

Lyft

Product Designer, Rider Growth

I left Duet in love with building, but I hadn't yet learned to build well. I came to Lyft to be surrounded by world-class designers inside a deep consumer craft culture, making experiences that had to hold up for millions of riders.

On the rider growth team, I worked across the core ride flow. I helped bring shared rides back after COVID, grew Lyft Pink, the company's membership bet on rider growth, and opened new use cases for commuters who depend on reliable rides at a predictable price.

Lyft is where I learned craft. Staff and principal designers pushed on every detail of these screens, and working beside them taught me what it takes to design great experiences that hold up in the real world.

About

Lyft is one of North America's largest rideshare networks, carrying millions of riders through crucial parts of their day.

Role

Designer focused on rider growth and core rider product.

Impact

Grew the Lyft Pink member base, cut support volume, brought shared rides back after COVID, and unlocked commuters as a new core audience.

Duet

Founding Product Designer

Duet is where I learned to build and fell in love with entrepreneurship. I traveled to Lesbos, Greece, then the largest refugee hotspot in the world, and listened to everyone the crisis touched: the mayor, NGOs, resettling families, store owners, longtime locals. From that we built a three-sided exchange. Resettling families requested the aid they actually needed from stores in their own community, donors around the world funded specific items and saw exactly who their giving helped, and every delivery moved through the local economy, bolstering it and easing tensions between new families and their neighbors.

About

Duet is a giving platform born in Lesvos, Greece: refugee families request the exact items they need from shops in their own community.

Role

Led design end to end, from field research in Lesvos through the shipped product.

Impact

Moved $500,000+ to refugee families, won OpenIDEO's Reimagine Charitable Giving Challenge, and earned Gates Foundation backing.
